Hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is once again in the spotlight, this time due to a lawsuit filed by a male escort alleging sexual assault. The case, lodged in the Southern District of New York on 26 February (local time), adds to the growing list of legal troubles for the rapper and music executive.
The accuser, identified only as John Doe in court documents, claims the incident occurred in 2012 at New York City’s Intercontinental Hotel. According to the lawsuit, Doe was commissioned to meet Combs in the city, where events allegedly took an alarming turn.

The lawsuit alleges that Combs forced the accuser to engage in “oral and penetrative sex” with a woman present in the room. Doe claims he was given a water bottle and had baby oil rubbed on his body, which left him feeling “as if he had been drugged and not in complete control of his body”.
The accusations escalate further, with Doe stating that Combs “forcibly anally raped” him despite his repeated protests.
“Doe continually told Combs to stop, screaming ‘no’ because he was in pain,” the lawsuit alleges, per PEOPLE.
The complaint also alleges that Combs threatened Doe to maintain silence about the incident. The accuser claims Combs said, “You better not say a word to anybody about this. Did you hear me?”
This was followed by an alleged reference to Tupac Shakur‘s death: “If I can get Pac hit, what the fuck do you think can happen to you?”
Combs is currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, awaiting a criminal trial scheduled for 5 May. The charges he faces, including sex trafficking and racketeering, could result in a life sentence if he is convicted.
As of February 2025, Diddy is facing over 30 separate civil suits alleging various forms of sexual misconduct, per the BBC.
Lawyer Tony Buzbee, who represents several alleged victims, estimates that the potential number of civil legal cases against Diddy “is probably in the 300” range. However, he clarified to the BBC that realistically, the final count will likely be “about 100 to 150” cases.
