New Orleans Saints 2023 schedule tracker: Instant analysis on latest reports, rumors, and leaks

The 2023 NFL schedule release is drawing closer by the minute, but there have already been plenty of reports, rumors, and leaks flying around on what’s in store for the New Orleans Saints.

Some of those claims (like the Saints supposedly traveling to Germany for a game with the New England Patriots) have already been disproven by the NFL. So take this with a grain of salt and wait for the official schedule release to make your travel arrangements.

In the meantime, we’ll maintain this live tracker for what’s being reported by reputable outlets. Check this space often as we piece the Saints’ schedule together:

Week 1: Saints vs. Tennessee Titans

Here’s a good opportunity for all those defensive line investments to prove their worth. The Saints will trot out free agents Nathan Shepherd and Khalen Saunders with rookie draft picks Bryan Bresee and Isaiah Foskey against the Titans and two-time NFL rushing champion Derrick Henry, who will be spelled by a New Orleans fan-favorite: Tyjae Spears, the record-setting Tulane standout.

Week 2: Saints at Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Footbal

Date: Sept. 18

This will either be Andy Dalton’s revenge game against his former Saints team or (more likely) Bryce Young’s introduction to the NFL in front of a national audience for his first home opener. Carolina has won 3 of the last 4 games in his series, cutting New Orleans’ all-time lead to 29-28, so there’s a lot on the line between those bragging rights and an early jump in the NFC South title race.

Week 3: Saints at Green Bay Packers

Date: Sept. 24

This is going to be the Packers’ home opener, so the crowd is going to be energized despite a change at quarterback. We’ll see if Jordan Love has what it takes. Good news for the Saints is that this is one of their few outdoors road games that could be played in cold weather, which is unlikely to say the least in September.

Week 4: TBD

Week 5: TBD

Week 6: TBD

Week 7: TBD

Week 7: TBD

Week 8: TBD

Week 10: Saints at Minnesota Vikings

Date: Nov. 12

This should be a fun one after the Saints and Vikings played it so close in London last year. Minnesota brings the best 2022 record among their opponents this season, but they got exposed in the playoffs and can be beaten. New Orleans can’t afford another mistake-filled affair like we saw last time.

Week 11: TBD

Week 12: Saints at Atlanta Falcons

Date: Nov. 26

The Saints will brave the post-Thanksgiving crowds to travel to Atlanta on the following Sunday for a game with their chief rivals. They haven’t lost to the Falcons in Atlanta since the 2017 season, winning games with Jameis Winston, Taysom Hill, Trevor Siemian, and Drew Brees under center.

Week 13: TBD

Week 14: TBD

Week 15: Saints vs. New York Giants

Week 17: TBD

Week 18: Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Saints will close out the year with their oldest rival, having swept the Falcons last year to set the all-time record at 54-54 (including the playoffs). This game could carry heavy weight depending on how both teams perform in the NFC South title race.
