Bowl season is approaching, and most eligible teams will find out where they are playing in the postseason after the conference championship games are contested this weekend. However, two fan bases already found out where their teams are playing in an unexpected way.
Ticketmaster appeared to leak who will be playing in the New Orleans Bowl, with Jacksonville State facing off against Louisiana. A Ragin’ Cajuns fan found that the ticketing giant prematurely posted the matchup on its website before an official announcement.
On the heels of the apparent leak, Brett McMurphy of Action Network reported Friday morning that the Ragin’ Cajuns and Gamecocks will indeed play in the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 16.

This will be Jacksonville State’s first bowl game, as the team moved up from the FCS to the FBS this year. The Gamecocks went 8–4 in their first season in Conference USA under coach Rich Rodriguez.
Louisiana, meanwhile, went 6–6 in the Sun Belt and is now slated to play in the New Orleans Bowl for the seventh time since 2011. The Ragin’ Cajuns are 5–1 in this bowl game, with their most recent appearance being a 2021 victory over Marshall to cap a 13-1 season.
