For those encountering New on Steam for the very first time, it's a relatively new feature series here on Player.One that puts the new games on Steam front and center. This particular feature focuses on a strategy tower defense game. If you enjoyed Kingdom Rush Vengeance but prefer shorter tower defense games, this game is right up your alley.
What's new on Steam? It's none other than Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD.
New on Steam: Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD was released on July 25, 2024. It is a strategic tower defense game developed and published by Ironhide Game Studio.
Like other tower defense games, your goal here is to defend your base against the enemies. In this case, you get to put together the warriors of Linirea and the Dark Army in order to defeat your foe and protect your base.
What you can expect are the following:
- 27 upgradeable characters
- 15 Towers with special skills
- 12 Epic Heroes
- 16 campaign stages
- Three game modes
- More than 32 different enemies
System Requirements
The following are the minimum Windows requirements in order for the game to run smoothly:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Dual Core CPU
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics: OpenGL 3.0 compliant with 1.0GB of video RAM
- Storage: 1 GB available space
The following are the minimum system requirements for macOS:
- OS: macOS 10.13
- Processor: Apple M1 or Intel Core M
- Memory: 4 GB RAM

Early Steam Reviews
Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD, as of press time, has "Very Positive" reviews on Steam.
"Game is good," a user named Dataseries said in a Steam review. "I agree with the consensus that the game is way too short for the price."
"But the level design is superb, and there are lots of towers already," Dataseries added. "The heroes, meh, they don't really feel unique, but at least they give you a unique active skill."
"An excellent game with a charming art style and impressive graphics," user gilbertbudden said in a separate review. "The tower variety is wide and so is the hero variety."
gilbertbudden added, "Nearly all towers and heroes are unique and usable and the campaign stages are diverse, well designed and thought provoking."
