Barry Ferguson is the odds-on favourite to replace Philippe Clement as Rangers manager.
The club icon has gone from a contender for the role to the clear frontrunner with Sky Bet pricing the former captain at 1/2 to take over for at least 10 competitive matches.
It's expected Rangers will appoint a caretaker manager to look after the first-team until the end of the season after dismissing Clement over the weekend.
The Ibrox side are in talks over a takeover from 49ers Enterprises - who hold shares in Leeds and own the San Francisco NFL franchise - while a hunt for a sporting director is also underway.
For that reason, Ferguson could be viewed as a safe appointment for the interim period with Sky Bet making him the clear favourite for the position either permanently or for beyond the ten-game threshold for betting purposes.
