New Moxy hotel celebrating 'Bristol culture' is taking bookings ahead of April opening date

A new hotel which will celebrate Bristol culture is now taking bookings as it prepares to open to guests next month. Moxy Hotel is in the final stages of construction on Newfoundland Circus, by the M32, and hopes to open at the end of April.

The £16million hotel is part of the Marriott chain, however doesn't resemble a Marriott, with an open plan seating area, cocktail bar, and games zone making for a 'more social' vibe. Guests will be welcomed with a free drink when they check in, as well as free WiFi and Chromecast TVs in all the rooms.

Each Moxy has a theme, and the hotel near Cabot Circus will celebrate the best of Bristol culture, specifically its artwork. Local artists in Bristol have been given an opportunity to make their mark on the hotel, which pitches itself as "relaxed and stylish."

The opening date of the hotel has been pushed back numerous times due to Covid and Brexit. It had hoped to open in early 2020, then Autumn 2020. That was then pushed back to spring 2021, autumn 2021 and March 2022.

Moxy Area Sales Manager Colm Feeley says he is "excited" to welcome guests at the end of April, and that it is great for those visiting Bristol and needing a central place to stay. Guest rooms cost anywhere between £108 to £159 per night, with breakfast at an additional charge.

The website reads: "Want to know what makes Moxy Bristol a boutique hotel at it’s heart? The bright and open lobby where guests’ check-in at the bar (first drink on us!), or the social spaces with cool, comfy seating, and large work-desk with charging points galore.

"The fact that all 214 bedrooms are equipped with 42-inch ChromeCast TVs so you can bring your Netflix binge with you, en-suite bathrooms, and yet more USB charging points! This is a place for the culture-heads and the Portisheads.

"Whether you’re a couple in town for some R&R, a family (yes, including the dog!) headed for a Staycation near to Bath, or a business or leisure traveller who wants a relaxed, stylish hotel in Bristol City Centre, you’re sure to feel at home.

"With a 24/7 Food & Beverage outlet offering a wide selection of grab 'n' go snacks and drinks, we’ve got a coffee-shop-by-day-cocktail-bar-by night vibe, a games zone, and super-fast WiFi throughout to keep everyone connected."
