New movies coming to Sky Cinema and Now TV in October 2019

It's time for a new month which means a new batch of movies to watch.

Sky Cinema is releasing some pretty big hitters for all tastes in October 2019 for Sky customers, which will also make it onto the Now TV streaming service for those with the Sky Cinema movies pass.

In addition to new additions which include the hit Steve McQueen thriller Widows and the latest Halloween sequel starring Jamie Lee Curtis, we also have some movie collections to look forward to.

The service has curated a selection of films for different moods and vibes, but given that it is the month of Halloween you can probably guess what kind of a mood we are in.

Widows - October 4

In the stunning thriller from director Steve McQueen, the widows of a criminal gang (Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez) set out to finish what their partners started in this masterful thriller also starring Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya, Cynthia Erivo, Brian Tyree Henry, Colin Farrell, and Liam Neeson.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween - October 18

The Quinn siblings (SARAH, her brother SONNY and his best friend SAM) discover the devious ventriloquist dummy SLAPPY. Slappy tries to solve the Quinn family problems, but when his high-jinks go too far, they must join forces to get rid of him. (Columbia Pictures)

Halloween lurches into real life when a group of youngsters unwittingly unleash all manner of monsters from the pages of RL Stine’s best-selling books. This creepy comedy sequel with Ken Jeong and Jack Black is an ideal watch for Halloween.

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World - October 19

Venture once more to the mythical Viking village of Berk for “How to Train Your Dragon 3,” the third and final chapter of DreamWorks’ hit franchise about the young Viking, Hiccup, and his dragon, Toothless. Now the leaders of their respective clans, Hiccup and Toothless face new challenges in the culmination of their story. The returning voice cast includes Jay Baruchel as Hiccup, America Ferrera as Astrid, and Cate Blanchett as Valka. The third installment is once again directed by Dean DeBlois, the writer/director of the first two films in the series, which garnered three Oscar® nominations and more than $1 billion at the global box office. Halloween (2018) - October 25

Just in time for the day itself, prepare for a scare this Halloween with the sequel to John Carpenter's horror classic. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode in the ultimate horror face-off, as she prepares to take on masked killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. This film ignores all sequels after the original Halloween film and builds to an epic confrontation between Strode and Myers.

Halloween - October 25 to November 3

Films include A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining, Annabelle, Halloween (2018), A Quiet Place, The Nun, Hocus Pocus, The Exorcist, The Ring, and Goosebumps 2.

Heists - October 4 to October 6

Films include Widows, Snatch, Inside Man, The Italian Job (1969), Ocean’s 8, Fast Five, Die Hard, and Die Hard With A Vengeance.

Spooky - October 21 to November 3

Films include Monster Family, Paranorman, Coraline, Goosebumps 2, Monsters, Inc., Haunted Mansion, Hotel Transylvania 3, and The Addams Family.
