The Upper Broughton pub the Tap and Run, part of the Cat and Wickets pub company run by England and Notts cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney will have a new menu from next week.
Paul Thacker, who helped to develop the menu at the Trent Bridge fine dining restaurant Six, has been appointed head chef and will oversee kitchen operations at the Leicestershire pub.
“I’m delighted to join the Cat and Wickets group and look forward to building on the reputation that has already been forged for great food and friendly service,” said Paul.
“My brief is to maintain what’s great about the Tap and Run while adding that bit extra to bring variety, special events and a level of consistency in keeping with the best gastro pubs in the region.”
The Nottingham-born chef, who lives in Wilford, has previously delivered multiple openings for Chino Latino. He also co-owns Nakama, the Asian fusion pop-up.
“Paul fitted our bill perfectly and his pedigree will add a lot to our offering,” said Harry.
“This appointment is the next step in establishing our reputation for food and we’re very pleased to have him on board.”
Table bookings are now being taken until June with Paul’s new menu set to launch from Monday, May 6. The al a carte menu is still being developed and will be available soon.
