A budget retailer has been given permission to open a massive shop at an Ayrshire retail park.
B&M looks set to take over three units at Kilmarnock's Glencairn Retail Park.
The former Brantano Footwear unit, along with the old DW Sports store and currently occupied Pound Stretcher shop would make way for the monster-sized 28,257 sq ft mega shop.
Ayrshire Live told you in January that the bid for a supercharged shop was shrouded in mystery but additional documents released last week show B&M as the retailer hoping to move into the huge unit
The new store would sell food and non-food items and the shop is set to have part of the service yard at the rear transformed into a garden centre.
The entrance to the shop would be via the ex DW Sports doors with the Pound Stretcher and Brantano entries being transformed into fire exits.
East Ayrshire Council planners approved the bid to change a number of details at the unit and its yard last week in order for B&M to open.
Alterations included the formation of a food and non-food retail unit and the change of use of the service yard to allow a garden centre to be erected. Elevation changes to the façade of the units and associated works were also approved.
Planners have attached conditions to the approval notice and aspects of the blueprints relating to visual amenity will have to go before officials ahead of work starting on the site.
A planning statement reads: "This application seeks approval for the allowance of food sales through this detailed application submission, in addition to the new garden centre and other works required for B+M to operate.
"Overall, the proposals will help ensure the re-occupation of vacant retail units within the park, deliver new investment to Kilmarnock and create new employment, leading to substantial economic benefits for the local area."
B&M currently has a shop on Queen's Drive in the town and it's not yet known if the original shop will be retained.
The mega unit would sit alongside Dunelm, Poundland, Food Warehouse, TK Maxx and Halfords.
