New Man City kit leaked in FIFA 22 reveal trailer

Ahead of the club's official reveal, Manchester City's new 2021/22 home kit has been shown off early after being featured in the new FIFA 22 reveal trailer.

City have not yet officially revealed their new home kit ahead of the new 2021/22 Premier League season but last week the kit was apparently leaked online, showing a kit with a plainer design and a lighter sky blue colour, with white patches on the side.

And in the brand new FIFA 22 reveal trailer, which premiered on YouTube on Sunday, July 11, the new City kit is featured heavily in the video, which confirms that the previous 'leak' was correct.

The FIFA 22 reveal trailer features City midfielder Phil Foden scoring a goal against Chelsea in the new 2021/22 home kit, with the England international executing a perfect knee slide in celebration.

Foden is surrounded by City players like Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho in the video, all of whom are sporting the new City home kit.

Earlier in the trailer, Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic is shown scoring a goal against City. In the clip, the new City home goalkeeper kit is revealed, with Ederson diving in an attempt to thwart Pulisic's effort.

The new City home goalkeeper kit looks very similar to the 2020/21 home goalkeeper kit, which is predominantly green.

The FIFA 22 reveal trailer was shown off for the first time on YouTube on Sunday, July 11, 2021. The trailer features a number of world-class footballers re-imagined in the virtual world including Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-Min Son, Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic, Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior and of course, the FIFA 22 cover star Kylian Mbappe.

But the trailer also showed off a number of brand new features that fans can look forward to in FIFA 22, including big changes to gameplay, with a brand new technology called 'HyperMotion' that will be included on the next-gen version of FIFA 22, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and Stadia.

FIFA 22 will be released worldwide on October 1, 2021 on Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC. (EA SPORTS FIFA)

“FIFA 22 offers millions of fans around the world a chance to engage with the sport they love in an unprecedented way,” said Nick Wlodyka, GM, EA SPORTS FIFA .

"Each player experiences FIFA in their own way but on-pitch gameplay is the unifying constant, so we’re excited to offer deep innovation there. HyperMotion elevates that even further on next-gen consoles and Stadia and completely changes the feel of the game”.
