New Look fans are raving about a £33 skirt they're calling 'perfect for Summer'. The £32.99 New Look Denim Split Hem Maxi Skirt has been hailed both 'flattering' and 'versatile', and can easily be paired with virtually any top or bodysuit for picnics, BBQs, Summer weddings, bottomless brunches and nights out.
New Look's £32.99 Denim Split Hem Maxi Skirt is cut in a versatile maxi length, and comes in a flattering A-line fit that will create the illusion a narrow waist and wider hips for an instant hourglass effect. It has a mid-rise waistband to cover the stomach area, and has been designed with belt loops should you wish to add one for extra support or to nip in the waist further.
The £33 New Look skirt is made from a denim fabric that will go with virtually any vest top or bodysuit. For added comfort it has side and back pockets.
The Denim Split Hem Maxi Skirt, which is part of Emily Atack's Summer collection for New Look, is available in sizes 6 to 22. Fashion fans can choose from four different colourways - Black, White, Blue Denim and Mid Blue Denim.
One New Look fan was impressed by how well the £33 Summer skirt sucked her stomach in. She said: "Gorgeous quality mid blue denim skirt. Not much stretch in the denim so held me in but still comfortable. Fitted at the waist, so a little struggle to get over curvy hips but not impossible.
"I’m 5’ 4” tall and it reaches my ankles with the split reaching my knees, not too exposed at all. I got into a size 10 which is perfect on my smaller waist (no gaping) but my hips are more generous so a slight squeeze there. I had to pull the skirt down so it sat right at the front (the zip bulged out a little otherwise)."
She added: "I checked back repeatedly until it got restocked - be quick, it sells out fast. Perfect casual skirt for this season."
A second five-star reviewer said: "I love this skirt, its very flattering, comfortable and looks great with a pair of boots! I got a size 10, which fit like a size 8, which it stated on the website. I'm 5'9 and its quite long on me, comes down close to my heels so good for the taller girls!"
A third wrote: "Stunning skirt! Perfect midaxi length and slit not too high to make it too revealing when walking/sitting. The zipper could do with being a bit longer as the skirt was really tight to pull over my hips, but once it was on it meant it was tight around my waist and didn’t flatten my bum. I’d recommend sizing up if you have wide hips unless you’re happy to properly squeeze/pull the skirt up."
