New Liverpool restaurant giving away free tapas to customers this week

People in Liverpool can tuck into free tapas this week.

Tapas Revolution opens in Queen Square in the city centre tomorrow (November 3) and to celebrate its arrival, the venue will have a pop up tapas van outside giving away free food.

The venue has taken over the La Tasca site, which has been overhauled to create a look reminiscent of Barcelona or Ibiza.

The 132 seater restaurant has all day dining and an improved ‘Spanish Terraza’ where more than 100 people can drink and dine alfresco. Inside, people can tuck into paellas and a selection of tapas including chorizo roasted in cider.

This week, the venue is giving people a flavour of what to expect by handing out complimentary calamari, patatas bravas, chorizo and churros, from its pop up van. This will be outside the venue on November 3, 4 and 5 from 12pm to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm. Weather permitting, there will be a large paella served in the evening and guests are encouraged to visit early as once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Liverpool’s Tapas Revolution is the 10th site to open in the UK, with restaurants also in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Bath, Newcastle, Sheffield and more.

Madrid-born executive chef Omar Allibhoy has led the menu and will be creating the free samples for guests at the pop up van.

He said: “We’re so excited to have opened our doors at our new Liverpool city centre site. To give our guests a taster of the menu, we’ll be providing complimentary tapas dishes including our incredibly popular calamari and chorizo, and everyone’s favourite; patatas bravas.

“For those with a sweet tooth, we’ll have our delicious churros tossed in cinnamon sugar and served with warm chocolate dipping sauce.

“I’ll be serving the dishes and hope to see many of our Scouse guests so that I can chat through our menu and the dishes and answer any questions on Liverpool’s newest tapas restaurant."
