New jobs created for Nottinghamshire village thanks to new Co-op store opening

A new Co-op in a Nottinghamshire village is set to create new jobs for the community. The new Lincolnshire Co-op store is opening on Eakring Road, Bilsthorpe, and will offer a range of local products, memberships and community schemes.

Due to open for the first time on Thursday, June 1, the new £2m food store will also be creating 15 jobs for the area. The outlet will offer a soft plastic recycling service, takeaway Costa Coffee, and a wide range of groceries including fresh and frozen goods, British meat, fruit and veg, chilled beers and wines.

It will also offer freshly baked goods from Gadsby’s Bakery, which is based nearby in Southwell. The store has 21 parking spaces, and will be open every day of the week from 7am to 10pm.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s popular Love Local range will also be in store, which will include beer from Milestone Brewery in Cromwell and Pheasantry Brewery in East Markham, and other locally sourced items, such as greeting cards and jam.

Member Engagement Manager, Rik Greig, said: “We’re looking forward to the store opening so we can introduce the Bilsthorpe community to Lincolnshire Co-op. We’re keen to welcome new members, deliver great member benefits, offer a valued service, whilst supporting some great local causes and contributing to the local economy.”

The new store opens on June 1.
