New Intel Report: China Intensifies Election Interference, Uses AI Disinformation

Xi Jinping bluntly tells Biden they're taking Taiwan.

In recent developments, a new report has shed light on the bold actions of China's President Xi Jinping in his conversation with President Joe Biden. It has been revealed that Xi Jinping bluntly informed President Biden that China plans to seize Taiwan. Experts believe that the Chinese leader is confident in taking this step, knowing that the United States is unlikely to intervene. This alarming revelation comes amid growing concerns about China's interference in democratic processes.

According to a new Intel report, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has ramped up its efforts to influence the outcome of elections, particularly the upcoming 2022 midterms. Officials are now worried that China will intensify these activities in the next presidential election, raising concerns about the potential for even greater interference. The National Security Agency has also reported that China has been experimenting with artificial intelligence (A.I.) to propagate disinformation since the 2022 vote.

Former Trump Director of National Intelligence, Ratcliffe, discussed the implications of these findings. He noted that while the report acknowledges that no infrastructure tampering was detected in 2022, it does not necessarily rule out future attempts. Ratcliffe highlighted that the report's most striking admission was the correction of the majority view expressed in the 2020 report, which downplayed China's influence campaign favoring Joe Biden. He emphasized that China's efforts to support Biden and undermine Donald Trump during the previous election were well-documented and cautioned that such efforts are likely to persist and intensify.

It is clear that China has a vested interest in seeing Joe Biden as the next president, as his administration has shown a more accommodating stance toward China's interests. Biden's lack of confrontation on various issues, including the spy balloon incident, China's aggression in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea, has made him an ideal candidate in the eyes of Chinese leadership.

In response to these revelations, some media outlets have attempted to spin a different narrative. The Atlantic, for instance, published an article claiming that Xi Jinping actually wants Biden to lose and that Biden's approach has been tougher on China than Trump's. However, experts dismiss these claims as disinformation, emphasizing Biden's foreign policy weaknesses and his administration's turn-the-other-cheek approach. Critics argue that this approach projects not only weakness but also fear, benefiting China and other adversaries.

As the world grapples with China's escalating interference and aggressive actions, the need for a comprehensive and robust response becomes increasingly urgent. Addressing these issues and safeguarding democratic processes will undoubtedly require strategic thinking and international cooperation.
