Scots can catch a glimpse of a transformed Glasgow in the new trailer for the latest Indiana Jones movie.
Back in 2021, production crews descended on the city to film scenes for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. In a trailer released by Lucasfilm at the Star Wars Celebration on Friday, the advert shows a Glasgow made up as 1960s New York City.
Shot on St Vincent Street the clips show Harrison Ford, reprising his role as Jones, speeding through a busy parade on horseback while chasing a gunman. To get into character for certain scenes, the 80 year-old will be digitally de-aged to his younger self.
As reported by Glasgow Live, the film features an array of famous faces. Such stars include Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Phoebe-Waller Bridge, with John Rhys-Davies reprising his role as Sallah.
The Hollywood blockbuster is out this June, and it ins't the first time tinsel town has come to Glasgow, as it's a hot spot for big name productions. Other titles with scenes shot in Glasgow include The Batman, World War Z and Fast and the Furious 6.
A Glasgow City Council spokesman said the Indiana Jones crew was the biggest ever seen in the city, surpassing the one for Brad Pitt's zombie horror film World War Z.
He said the film office “attracts many cinema, broadcast and advertising productions” — including “prominent” examples recently — and “can look forward to more in the not too distant future”.
Key to the city’s success is “a one-stop shop with a large portfolio of locations and the capacity to work closely with other parts of the council”, the spokesman added.
