New in Latin Music: New material from Belinda, Bad Bunny, Fonsi, Laura Pausini, Nicki Nicole, Annita...

MIAMI - Welcome to the first of the busiest weeks of the year in Latin music. As the Latin Grammy considerations continue before the May 30 submission deadline, the best and brightest artists are releasing new albums and carefully curated songs with the goal of improving their chances at winning the desired prize, considered the industry's highest recognition.

The veterans are leading the week's charge. Thalía, released her new EP album "A mucha honra," and the focus single "Te va a doler" ft. Grupo Firme. Wisin is also dropping a new project, with his "brother" Yandel being part of the main song, "Perreo 101." Salsa king Marc Anthony's new album "Muevense" is one of the most romantic of his career, and Ricardo Montaner has gone back to the studio to remaster six of his biggest albums. The first release of this era is a gorgeous new version of "Yo que te amé," one of his most iconic ballads.

Staying with the Montaner family, Mau y Ricky dropped another tune from their upcoming album "Hotel Caracas". Featuring their friend, Puerto Rican urban artist Guaynaa, "Gran día" is the best so far of a group of excellent songs released recently by the Venezuelan duo.

Also hailing from Venezuela, singer-songwriter Elena Rose unveiled "Trago Al Pecho," a deeply personal single that bares her emotional wounds, with an interesting combination of vulnerability and urban rhythms.

Big acts join forces

Bad Bunny, Belinda, Natanael Cano and Myke Towers are super stars and command billions of streams on their own. This week, however, they have combined forces in pairs and have put out two excellent tracks.

Bad Bunny and Myke Towers released "Adivino," with lyrics that fans are sure are about (in Benito's part) to his ex Kendall Jenner. Belinda and Cano took the road of the 'corridos coquettes' that the Mexican artist has been exploring. Their song "300 noches" brings a new flavor to the exciting world of música mexicana.

Also from Mexico, sibling duo Jesse & Joy are stirring souls with "Lo Que Nos Faltó Decir," adding another heartwrenching ballad to their catalogue.

New cumbias

Los Ángeles Azules unveiled their first collaboration with Yuridia, the fantastic cumbia "Te felicito." Considering how well they sound, it's a mystery why they hadn't worked together before.

Also in the most Latino genre of them all, Raymix, the pioneer of electrocumbia, returns with "No Hay Vida Sin Ti," a track that delves into the despair of romantic disillusionment. It's a song that resonates with those who've faced heartbreak, offering a musical embrace to the lonely.

However, it is Argentinian Nicki Nicole who leads the cumbia pack this week. In her first foray in the genre by herself (she has a song with Los Ángeles Azules), the singer songwriter delivers a knife in the heart with "Ojos verdes," a song that seems clearly dedicated to her cheating ex, Peso Pluma.

A touch of pop
