New images emerge of bizarre Kai Havertz Chelsea injury after horror Daniel Amartey tackle

New images have emerged of Kai Havertz after he was kicked in the chest by Leicester City's Daniel Armartey. The midfielder caught Chelsea's goalscorer flush in the body after clearing a ball, leaving the German in a heap on the floor.

Blues players were up in arms over the tackle but it went unpunished by referee Andre Marriner. That wasn't the only decision that Graham Potter may feel went against his side after Joao Felix was on the receiving end of a bad tackle from Ricardo Pereira early on in the game.

Neither of the incidents were referred by VAR to have Marriner check, though both did considerable damage to the Chelsea player. Felix was forced off at half-time after hitting the post in the first half and having a goal ruled out, meanwhile Havertz was caused physical harm by Armartey.

In images that emerged at half-time, Havertz can be seen with clear stud marks, cuts and scratches high on his chest from the boot of Armartey. After spending a period of time on the floor getting treatment he was eventually okay to carry on.

Potter will be happy at that too, with the German putting his side in the lead moments before the break, scoring in added time that came about partly because of the delay from his period on the floor. It capped off 45 minutes of impressive goals from both sides.

Ben Chilwell had put Chelsea ahead early on with a stunning volley from an improbable angle before Patson Daka equalised midway through the half with a long-range strike of his own.

Havertz dinked Enzo Fernandez's neat ball over Danny Ward with a delightful first-time chip over the keeper.
