A new beer store 'Prost Bottle Shop' has opened in Bebington, Wirral, which caters for "beer aficionados, beer novices and everything in between."
The independent bottle shop has been open since December 7, 2022, and has already had a "phenomenal" amount of support from the local community. With a constantly expanding stock and new beers arriving daily, it’s no wonder the tucked away store has been a hit with beer fans.
Owned by Ian Reynolds, 35 and his wife Megan Reynolds, 30, the store is situated on a quiet street in Bebington. Speaking to the ECHO, Ian said: "We really want to provide a service that is accessible to all, in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. You don’t have to have a beard and wear a plaid shirt to shop here."

Prost Bottle Shop stocks local and national craft ales, European, world beers and ciders. Their vast range of drinks include German and Austrian lagers, wheat beers, Polish imperial stouts, French blonde beers, Belgian beers, hand crafted ciders, local, national and international pale ales, IPA’S, DIPA’S, TIPA’S, sours, stouts, daisons and many more.
Ian set up the store because of his "passion for good beer". He said: "Though we have some excellent pubs in Bebington, I have always felt that we lacked somewhere that you could get a wide range of craft and world beers from.”
He continued: "You won’t find the majority of what we sell in the supermarket. We’re basically like a sweet shop for beer lovers. We like to work with as many independent breweries as possible to bring something different to people’s beer fridges."
The store plans to continue to add new beers to their range and continue to make craft and world beers as “accessible as they possibly can.” Ian has already seen certain beers become a hit among visitors, including the Augistiner Helles and their range of Austrian Stiegl beers.
He added: "On the craft side of things, the good people of Bebington have a real thirst for sour beers. Every new sour beer we bring in seems to fly off the shelves."
In terms of future plans, the duo promise to add new beers to their range and "continue to make craft and world beers as accessible as we possibly can." Ian concluded: "We might have some interesting plans up our sleeves, so watch this space..."
