New Heroes Sequel Series Confirmed In Development By NBC

Heroes series premiered in 2006 on NBC.

A new Heroes sequel series has been confirmed to be in development. Premiering in 2006, the acclaimed NBC superhero drama series ran for four seasons, following the lives of individuals whose destinies became intertwined after discovering they had superpowers following a mysterious solar eclipse. The show was well-received initially, with the first two seasons garnering accolades from prestigious institutions like the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Writers Guild of America.

However, the subsequent seasons saw a decline in quality and viewership, leading to the show's cancellation after four seasons. A follow-up miniseries titled Heroes Reborn was released in 2015 but also faced the same fate of cancellation after just one season.

Now, nine years after Heroes Reborn, a new reboot of the classic superhero drama is in the works. The reboot, helmed by Tim Kring, the producer and screenwriter of the previous installments, is set to take place several years after the events of the original series.

With the announcement of the new reboot, fans of the franchise are eager to see a successful return of the show. The original series was a cultural phenomenon in the 2000s, attracting a large viewership and critical acclaim. The success of the forthcoming reboot will likely hinge on the quality of its first season.

Heroes and Heroes Reborn are currently available for streaming on Prime Video, allowing both longtime fans and new viewers to revisit or discover the world of superpowered individuals whose actions shape the past, present, and future.
