New Harry Kane bid predicted as Liverpool battle Premier League rivals for transfer

The transfer window is heating up as Liverpool's Premier League rivals move to secure signings for the upcoming season.

Alexis Mac Allister's move to Anfield was one of the first pieces of business done in the English top-flight with the Reds looking to snap up more additions.

However, their rivals are in the same boat as they look to cement their place in the top four. For Liverpool, they're looking to re-establish themselves among Europe's elite after missing out on qualification as they were forced to settle for Europa League football.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United are all in the hunt to reinforce their respective squads as last season's top two battle for Declan Rice.

Manchester City & Arsenal

Manchester City have pulled out of the battle with Arsenal to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.

According to various news sources, the Citizens have opted not to pursue the England international after it has been claimed that they have no intention of matching or improving on the latest offer pitched by the Gunners.

The Hammers captain has been earmarked as one of the main targets for Mikel Arteta's side as they look to compensate captain Martin Odegaard.

Already, Arsenal have had two bids rejected but now it has been reported, via the BBC, that they have made a third bid worth up to £105m for the Europa Conference League-winning skipper.

They claim that the Bundesliga champions are looking to the 33-year-old as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who has been linked with Liverpool, with suggestions he will leave the Allianz Arena this summer.

It has been reported that positive discussions have been held with the Bavarians and the England internationals representatives with a two-year deal possible.

All of which simply indicates that official confirmation of this deal is just a few hours away, with fans likely to keep their eyes peeled.

The images also appear to 'reveal' that Havertz will have the No.29.

Elsewhere according to reports in France, namely L'Equipe, Arsenal are interested in signing Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana if they fail to land Rice.

In terms of departures from north London, the Express have reported that Rob Holding is mulling over talk of a move to Turkey. There were initially reports that he could join Brendan Rodgers at Celtic but Besiktas have nudged in front to become frontrunners as per the report.

West Ham reportedly could end their pursuit of out-of-favour Manchester United captain Harry Maguire according to The Telegraph.

David Moyes' side are looking to bolster his squad following their success in Europe and are said to like the United defender. However, his wage demands are proving to be a stumbling block.

The Red Devils are open to selling the former Leicester City man but are said to face difficulty in paving way for an exit.

United are continuing their search for a new goalkeeper and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio will meet representatives from Old Trafford and representatives of Andre Onana.

It is hoped that in the next 48 hours, they can find an agreement to bring the goalkeeper to the Premier League and reunited with Erik ten Hag.

As well as reinforcements between the sticks, United are looking to bolster their midfield. Mason Mount was among their targets but saw three approaches knocked back. As a result, they've turned their attention to alternatives with Ajax's Mohammed Kudus named.

However, the major story that is developing surrounds captain Harry Kane. England's all-time leading goalscorer has been courted by German champions Bayern Munich - who have already seen their first bid rejected.
