Ubiquitous bakery Greggs has opened its 24th store in the Bristol area, creating 15 jobs on the eastern edge of the city. The new Greggs opened yesterday (Monday, March 6) at the Gallagher Retail Park in Longwell Green, near the Asda.
Greggs bosses said the shop, just off the A4174 ring road, will stock freshly prepared Greggs favourites, including the on-the-go retailer’s popular sausage rolls, steak bakes and vegan alternatives. The new Gallagher Retail Park store will be open every day between 8am and 6pm, and will have a click and collect facility through the Greggs app.
The chain is also planning another new Bristol store behind Temple Meads, where the McColl's used to be. Greggs signage appeared there last month and internal works were ongoing as of last week.

The boss of the new Longwell Green store is Jennifer Davey. “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop,” she said. “We’ve got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats and savouries available for takeaway or click + collect.”
Gillian Long is the retail operations director for Greggs. She said: “Our new shop in Bristol Gallagher Retail Park has brought 15 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”
The location also includes a ‘Nuttall Unit’ so customers can purchase some of Greggs favourite hot items such as Southern Fried Chicken Goujons and potato wedges.
