New Glasgow driving range creates 300 jobs

Topgolf is set to bring 300 new jobs to Glasgow when the company opens its first venue in Scotland at the end of the year.

The three level venue is currently being built in Rutherglen and the American-based company is looking for new operations, hospitality and administration staff.

Located just off the M74, the new venue has recruited almost all of its senior management team and final wave of roles will be advertised at the end of summer, including full-time and casual opportunities.

Eight hospitality manager vacancies are being sought, involving bar management, events and golf services. The training, commencing in September, includes several weeks at Topgolf’s headquarters in Dallas.

There are also a number of roles available in the running of the new venue’s kitchen, including executive sous chef and sous chef.

Simon Green, director of operations at Topgolf Glasgow, said: “We have recruited an amazing bunch of people to help us launch our first Scottish venue and are eager to meet our new recruits in the coming months as they come on board the Topgolf Glasgow team.”

Topgolf Glasgow will feature 72 hitting bays, with point-scoring games, food, drinks and music - as well as private event rooms for corporate meetings and celebrations.

The new venue is a key part of the Clyde Gateway regeneration programme, backed by South Lanarkshire Council and the Scottish Government.
