New Glasgow coffee shop and bakery from Short Long Black and Thomson's opening this summer

A new coffee shop and bakery is set to open this summer, with the news two of the best names in the Glasgow coffee scene have decided to team up.

With work already underway at 717 Pollokshaws Road in Strathbungo, former home of the popular Seven One Seven grocery and deli, Burnfield Bakery will open in the coming weeks.

Announcing the news on social media, the Short Long Black team revealed: "Announcement of the worst kept secret!

"@burnfieldbakery will soon have a brand spanking new shop front summer 2022.

"This collab project with @thomsonscoffee will feature all the usual nonsense you have come to expect, plus some extra wee surprises we will reveal in due course."

Short Long Black, which has also brought us the hugely popular Patricia's brunch haunt just down the street on Victoria Road, is one of the south side's most in-demand coffee shops and continued to serve takeaway coffees to local residents throughout the pandemic.

Furthermore, Thomson's, one of the oldest coffee companies in the city, stocks dozens of cafes with their excellent coffee beans across the city, while they also have their own very popular coffee shop on Vinicombe Street.

One for Glasgow coffee fans to get very excited about!
