New Glasgow city centre food spot Funky Monkey serving Greek-inspired sweet and savoury crepes

A newly-opened Glasgow city centre food spot aims to 're-introduce crepes to the British public', the Greek way.

From the team behind the brilliant Pie Pie on Broomielaw comes the fantastically-named Funky Monkey, on Queen Street.

After opening three years ago, Pie Pie has built quite the reputation for its delicious coffees and heavenly Greek pies.

And now they have brought the best of Greek cuisine to the heart of Glasgow.

Funky Monkey specialises in crepes, and is now serving them up both 'sweet and savoury', with dozens of ingredients for people to fully customise their own.

Telling Glasgow Live what people can expect from the latest food venture, Funky Monkey's Jordan said: "Our mission is to re-introduce crepes to the British public, prepared our way, just the way it has become our number one street food in Greece, along with souvlaki or gyros."

And for those who have yet to stumble upon Funky Monkey, mouthwatering teasers of the food on offer - which could serve as the perfect lunchtime snack for city centre workers - have been shared on their social media.

Funky Monkey, which also does home deliveries via Just Eat, is based at 81 Queen Street, Glasgow, G1 3EN.
