A gaming cafe where fans can get their geek on is coming to Bolton.
Geek Retreat is a gamer's paradise - giving them somewhere to indulge in their hobbies, trade cards and chill out with a bite to eat.
Billed as 'the friendliest place to meet, eat, shop and games, the cafes have already taken off in Bury and Wigan, the latter opening last November, and it's hoped the Bolton branch, which is located in Market Place, will have similar success.
From fans of Marvel, board games and Pokémon to Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Warhammer, all are welcome to meet and play their hobbies together.
The cafes, which run on a franchise basis, stock ‘geek culture’ merchandise such as comics, posters, clothing, figures and memorabilia as well as games and trading cards.
There's a breakfast menu, a kids' menu featuring the likes of burgers, hot dogs and jacket spuds, and sweet treats such as waffles and milkshakes.
Wigan's Geek Retreat has been a big success, not least for its popular Saturday morning Pokemon Kids Club for under 16s and adult sessions on Monday evenings.
Bolton's cafe is set to open on Saturday, February 12 and is one of 100 new stores that Geek Retreat is on track to open this year.
The franchise opened its first store in Glasgow in 2013 and now has stores in towns and city centres across the UK.
Cafes arrange their own event schedules, so check out the Facebook pages for Geek Retreat in Bury, Wigan and Bolton for further details.
