New Forspoken trailer spotlights the upcoming PS5 game’s parkour

Sony and Square Enix released a new Forspoken trailer highlighting some of Frey’s fantastical parkour abilities in the upcoming PS5 game. She’ll use and enhance these abilities not just to traverse Athia’s vast expanse, but to get an edge in combat as well.

Frey eventually gains an expansive parkour repertoire, but Flow is her fundamental ability. This skill lets her move with speed and surmount obstacles, so long as her stamina holds. Rush helps Frey move even faster during Flow while reducing the ability’s stamina cost, and Shimmy sees Frey launch herself up and forward, making it easier to reach high places and avoid dangers.

Float is pretty self-explanatory and seems useful, given the abundance of deadly cliffs and high places in Athia.

In combat, Frey can use Zip to anchor a tether at a targeted location and fly over to it quickly, making it perfect for getting the drop on an unsuspecting foe or quickly fleeing danger.

And if that’s not enough magical high-flying movements for you, Frey also has Soar, which sees her rise into the air, and Scale, where she creates phantom footholds that help her climb any obstacle.

You can upgrade all these abilities to bring out their full potential and reduce Frey’s stamina cost.

Forspoken launches Jan. 24, 2023, for PS5 and PC following a delay that pushed it out of 2022.
