A new mural soon to be on display in Enniskillen will celebrate the waterways and fishing heritage of Co Fermanagh.
The new mural, which features a fisherman catching a brown trout, is located at the back of the Crowe’s Nest and can be seen on Eden Street in the town.
Commissioned by local business collective Enniskillen BID, the mural is being painted by local artist Kevin McHugh.
“Kevin worked with the Crowe’s Nest manager Fergal to come up with the design and we’re just so delighted but we just need some sunny weather to get it finished off,” Noelle McAloon from Enniskillen BID told MyFermanagh.
“It’s our fifth mural and we have two more planned in the net two months so it’s just exciting times.
“The feedback has been phenomenal and people have just been loving the street art.
Noelle added the mural has been based on an old Fermanagh Lakelands type postcard from the 1980s.
“We’ve been attracting fishermen since the 1970s and they are still coming in their droves.
“It’s a homage to them and Kevin was getting lots of advice making sure the brown trout was accurate!
“Hopefully the fishermen will like it - it was just a grey wall and it’s lovely that you can see it from the road.”
