Frank Lampard could not have wished for a better start to life as Everton manager.
A 4-1 victory over Brentford will hopefully set the tone for future performances as the Blues look to climb the Premier League table.
The atmosphere around Goodison Park had taken a turn for the worse towards the end of Rafa Benitez's reign, but the a feel-good factor restored following Saturday's victory.

Lampard will certainly have been encouraged by the battling displays of his players, who look more than up for the challenges set to come the way of the side in the coming weeks.
Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell was impressed with what he saw at Goodison and believes the 'new era' at the club has added confidence to the ranks.
“There was an urgency, a hunger, a desire to chase the ball and press,” he told talkSPORT
“You’ve seen it not just on the first eleven but in the substitutes as well when they’ve come on the pitch. It’s a new era and a new regime. There’s a new confidence running through the team.

“It doesn’t get much better than this. This was a difficult game against a good Brentford side, but Everton have performance. We haven’t seen them perform many times this season, but when they do perform this is what they can do.
“Obviously there has been good communication from the manager. They have delivered, so well done to him. I think this is what everyone needed, not only the manager after his year out, but the Evertonians, too.
“They were together, they were more aggressive, they weren’t rushed at the back and they played between the lines. It was outstanding.”
Consistency will now be the key for Everton and Lampard, who are looking to turn around weeks of below par Premier League performances.
January arrivals Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek will hope to play their part in freshening up the midfield department, starting on Tuesday evening away to Newcastle United.
