An application for the development of new homes, retail opportunities and even a primary school has been submitted to Edinburgh Council.
The proposal, led by Cruden Homes (East) Ltd, has been described as a "mixed tenure" change which will include social housing, as well as private sales and mid-market rent.
Also included in the application is the availability for shops to be built, as well as the potential for a new primary school and energy centre.

According to the plans, the proposal is for the "residential led development of mixed tenure (social rent, mid-market rent and private sale), associated landscape and infrastructure; including commercial space and mobility hub facilities, site enabling works for proposed primary school and energy centre."
The location plans show that the development would take place just off of Granton Beach in Edinburgh, 250 metres to the east of 11 West Shore Road.
According to the plans, local councillors and wards have been notified, as well as the official Edinburgh Council themselves.
Public events are set to take place for locals to give their opinion on the proposed changes. One said event will take place on June 13 at the Granton Station Building from 4pm until 7pm.
The second event will also be hosted at the Granton Station Building on June 17, from 11am until 2pm.
