A new Italian restaurant has opened in Edinburgh's city centre, focusing on fresh and flavourful small plates.
Assaggini has opened its doors on Rose Street, offering a casual and contemporary dining experience across two floors with space for over 160 guests.
According to the restaurant, they use a blend of Scottish and Italian ingredients with pizza and pasta dishes created to be shared and enjoyed with friends or family.

The restaurant can also accommodate larger groups to dine in the heart of the city, with private dining and event space available from the spacious downstairs area.
As well as an extensive wine list, Assaggini also offer a wide range of cocktails and spirits. The interior of the restaurant is decked out with stylish booths and huge glass windows allow to diners to catch a glimpse of one of Edinburgh's busiest streets.
Additions to the food menu include options for vegetarians and vegans. The menu includes the likes of Paccheri Piccante pasta in a mascarpone and ‘nduja sauce; Fettuccine Funghi e Tartufo pasta with mixed mushrooms, garlic and truffle; and pizza with mortadella, pistachio and burrata
Side dishes include spicy ‘nduja fries, and a parma ham and buffalo mozzarella focaccia.
