New easyJet route will launch from Liverpool John Lennon Airport next summer

EasyJet will launch a new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport next summer.

Flights between Liverpool and Corfu will start on June 4, 2023, operating on Sundays. Tickets for the flights to the Greek island went on sale today (December 7), with a single ticket available to book from £26.99.

About the new route, Paul Winfield, director of aviation development for Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: “We’re delighted that easyJet will be offering passengers from the North West and North Wales even more opportunities to fly from the region’s airport of choice, with more seats now on sale from Liverpool for next summer as we continue our recovery from the pandemic.

"Our reputation of delivering a faster, easier, friendlier customer experience is seeing more and more passengers asking to fly from Liverpool.”

The new easyJet route comes after the airline scrapped from Liverpool Airport. Last month, the airline announced that it had ended its route from Liverpool to Krakow, while easyJet flights from the Speke-based airport to Madrid will come to an end in March 2023.

However, Liverpool Airport has also seen a number of new routes begin and announcements about new routes made in recent months. Icelandic airline PLAY began operating from the airport in October, offering services to Reykjavík–Keflavík Airport, as well as onward connections to America.

Additionally, it was confirmed in November that Norwegian airline Widerøe will return to Liverpool John Lennon Airport next year. Scandinavia’s largest regional airline last operated from Liverpool in 2020, with their previous service coming to an end due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it will return with twice weekly departures to Bergen from March 31, 2023.
