People will be given a first glimpse of a proposed new primary school in East Lothian next month as plans go out for public consultation.
The new Whitecraig Primary School, near Musselburgh, East Lothian, is due to open its doors in April 2024.
Funding for the school was included in a multi-million-pound package to replace it and build a new £46million secondary school at neighbouring Wallyford.
The new primary school will go on the site of the current school on Whitecraig Avenue, which will be demolished and include some playing fields next to it.
More than 2,000 new homes are set to be built in Wallyford over the coming years leading to the new secondary school and a review of primary facilities for families moving into the area.
Whitecraig Primary School was built in 1958 and has a roll of around 130 pupils and nursery children.
A Pre Application Notice for the new building has been lodged with East Lothian Council's planners and sets out proposals for both online and public consultations,
An exhibition of the proposed new school will be made in Whitecraig Village hub on Thursday, November 25, from 8am until 8pm.
The following day an online consultation will be held via Microsoft Teams from 12noon until 1pm with people able to register to take part by emailing panwhitecraigps@eastlothian.gov.uk.
And from November 29 the plans and consultation will be available through the council's consultation hub website for viewing and comments.
Approving the consultation process, East Lothian planners confirmed the plans were "acceptable". Adverts are expected to appear in the local press and community centres and sport centre with details from the start of November.
