The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an update to people expecting to receive cash in the next few days.
The government department issued a tweet as benefit claimants await various payments. It comes as a new month begins on Monday, and with May comes three bank holidays.
Usually, there is an early May bank holiday, which this year falls on May 1, and a later one, which takes place on May 29 in 2023.

"If you are due to be paid on 1 May you will be paid today, 28 April. Please contact us straight away if there is a problem with your payment". More information can be found here
Similarly, if you are expecting a payment date on Monday, May 8, this will instead be paid on Friday, May 5.
The DWP is also currently delivering Cost of Living payments to millions of low-income households. In an update it said the next of these will be paid from Tuesday, May 2.
