New Dolphins WR Erik Ezukanma explains the type of player he is

The Miami Dolphins may not have been in desperate need to draft a wide receiver in the 2022 NFL draft after trading for Tyreek Hill and signing Cedrick Wilson this offseason, but adding more to the room couldn’t hurt.

They opted to draft Texas Tech wide receiver Erik Ezukanma in the fourth round, and he’ll be looking to fight for a roster spot and playing time this season. Fight is exactly what he’ll do because that’s the type of player he is.

“A dog; A guy that works hard every day; A former team captain; an all-around talented wide receiver,” Ezukanma said before the draft. “I can do it all: red zone, backed-up, jet sweeps, hand offs… Whatever you need me to do I can do it for you. I don’t shy away from special teams. I have to earn my role on a team and I am willing to do whatever it takes.”

Miami got a player who will put the effort in to be a contributor in this league. If he can stay healthy, he’ll already be ahead of a number of their receivers in recent years.
