A huge exercise park for dogs is opening in the lush Ayrshire countryside this weekend.
Bark & Bound Mauchline is paw-fect for pooches to run free off their lead thanks to the whopping three-and-a-half acres of land available to roam and play in.
Complete with agility equipment, a picnic area, a shelter shack and high fencing, the park is ideal for recall, fetch and lead training, while ensuring the safety of your canine companions.
Slots — 25 minutes or 55 minutes, with prices starting from £6.50 — can accommodate up to five dogs at a time with parking space for four cars- making it paws-itively ideal for a catch up with friends or a dog walking date.
Poo bags will also be available if you forget yours with bins dotted about the area.
Owner Carol Stewart, 62, said her new venture, which opens on Saturday, has been “a long time coming” after waiting for planning permission for over a year.
Carol, who owns Meryl, a 15-month-old chocolate Lab with lots of energy, said: “I’m excited but apprehensive — it’s getting nearer to opening but it’s going to be brilliant.
“I reckon we’re probably the biggest [dog park] in the area — I don’t know any other one that’s got three-and-a-half acres.
“It’s to be able to let your dog run. There really isn’t anywhere you can go now and let your dogs run, apart from the beach and a lot of the beaches have stopped that as well because of kids and the mess.
“It’s safe for the owners as well. We’ve got a path around the whole park so you can bring buggies or if you want to train your dog on the lead.
“You could bring your whole family or friends with their dogs and share the cost, as long as it’s up to five dogs.”
Carol said she couldn’t have launched Bark & Bound, located at 6 Mosshead Holdings, without support from loved ones, especially husband Kenny.
She added: “Kenny has worked day and night and been my rock.
“I couldn’t have done it without help and support from family and friends.”
