TDP president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described the formation of new districts as unscientific and politically motivated and said his party would correct all such mistakes when it comes to power in the next elections.
At a party meeting on Monday, Mr. Naidu said the government did not take the objections raised by the people and the protests by them into consideration in carving out the new districts and revenue divisions. The TDP would organise a door-to-door campaign on the government’s policy decisions in the coming months, he added.
Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan said in a press release that the government went ahead with the creation of new districts with scant regard for public opinion. He insisted that the process was lopsided and there had been no proper study on the people’s aspirations. There were many issues to be sorted out, he said, demanding that the government should clarify how it planned to move forward with many inconsistencies in the process.
