New reports have shed light on Sydney Sweeney’s rumoured split from fiancé Jonathan Davino, just as she reunited with former co-star Glen Powell.
Speculation about the Euphoria star and 41-year-old Davino’s relationship has been growing, and sources now claim the actress had doubts about going through with the wedding.
The actress, 27, and 36-year-old Powell sparked intense scrutiny while filming their 2023 rom-com Anyone But You, appearing close off-screen.
However, both insisted they were just good friends.
Now, following reports that The White Lotus star has called off her engagement, an insider has alleged that the decision was hers.
“She’s not ready to settle down,” an insider told People, adding that she had started to feel “overwhelmed” in the relationship.

The source also suggested Sweeney’s career was a major factor in her choice, explaining she is “in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago”, and that’s “what she wants to focus on right now.”
The couple have not been seen together since January.
In March, Sweeney sparked split speculation when she appeared to delete a photo of her and Davino, whom she has been in a relationship with since 2018, kissing on New Year’s Eve, while keeping the rest of the pictures in the carousel.
The couple got engaged in 2022, but there have been multiple reports that they called off, their wedding and relationship after claims that Sweeney had been staying in the Beverly Hills Hotel alone.
The Madame Webb star, who has kept much of her relationship out of the public eye, has yet to address the reports.

Elsewhere, photos shared by Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi reignited speculation around Sweeney and Powell, as the pair were spotted together at Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex in Dallas with a group of friends.
The Immaculate star reportedly flew to Texas to attend the wedding of Powell’s sister, Leslie, and joined the rehearsal dinner at the restaurant. Sweeney was also said to have joined his family for brunch, though Powell was reportedly not in attendance.
However, before fans read too much into the sighting, an insider has claimed they were not there as a couple.
According to TMZ, Sweeney had RSVP’d for the wedding months prior—well before reports surfaced that she had postponed her own nuptials.
The source also noted that she travelled with her best friend and has been close to the Powell family, especially Leslie, for a long time.

Yet, this is far from the first time the screen stars’ friendship has fuelled romance rumours, and not the first time they’ve been dismissed.
While filming their 2023 rom-com Anyone But You, leaked photos of the pair looking cosy sparked intense speculation.
Powell later addressed the frenzy, explaining that they were simply embracing the spirit of their on-screen chemistry to promote the movie.
“The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry,” he told The New York Times. “Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry.
“That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully.”
The Standard has contacted Sydney Sweeney’s reps for comment.
