A new ice-cream parlour has established itself on Derry's Culmore Road, tucked away behind Garden City Stores.
With plenty of treats on offer, Sundae Scoops is a welcome addition and is the ideal spot for those searching for something sweet. The space has been truly transformed with the business moving in, with trendy new decor and impressive desserts to suit all.
As the new business owners know all too well, the current unpredictable climate is proving difficult for small local businesses to navigate. However, this did not put them off.
Business owner Jennifer McDermott said: "It’s scary to embark on any business venture but especially in the current climate when times are hard for everyone. But especially in these times people need a treat and a bit of an escape so I wanted to create a space with a cheerful and luxury vibe where people can come and relax while keeping costs as affordable as possible for all."
After taking over Garden City Stores, the owners decided that the extended space at the back was the perfect place to put their own stamp on a brand new business.
Jennifer said: "I thought an ice cream and coffee parlour would be a great addition to the area and having a sweet tooth myself I was excited to take on this new challenge and felt that I could add a unique touch to it."
Sundae Scoops has been welcoming new customers through their doors, providing people with some escapism and a space to relax.
Jennifer said: "Local response has been amazing, our regular customers in the shop were very excited to try it and I’m overwhelmed by the support from people all over the city.
"What can you expect when you come into Sundae Scoops: quality ice cream, crepes, coffees and so much more with gorgeous décor and excellent customer service!"
