PwC has named Jon Shelley as head of deals for Scotland, as the firm continues to build its deals advisory business during a high level of activity.
He replaces Jason Morris, who was recently appointed regional market leader for PwC Scotland.
Shelley was previously head of corporate finance for Scotland. In his new role he will oversee the firm’s 100-strong deals business, which includes corporate finance, transaction services, business restructuring and forensics, while remaining corporate finance lead.
After joining PwC in 2002, he became a partner in 2015. In addition to his role in Scotland, Shelley leads the UK corporate finance energy services sector focus. He will continue this role as the industry moves through the energy transition.
“I come into this role at a very important time for the business,” Shelley commented. “We are very much at the centre of the deals-led recovery from the pandemic, with a high level of market change and opportunity coupled with a high level of available capital.
“Scotland is home to a number of market leading businesses that are ticking boxes for investors across the world and M&A activity levels as a result are very high.
“Rapid change can also bring disruption and challenge and we are successfully helping clients navigate this with the best outcomes often driven by a blend of our wide deals capability.”
Morris added: “In Jon we have a new deals leader who knows the market inside out.
“His experience and network across Scotland and beyond are second to none, and he has supported a number of our Scottish clients expanding footprint in the UK and overseas.”
