New country music festival to be held in Scottish city

A NEW one -day country music festival is set to be launched in Inverness next year.

The festival titled Northern Star Country Music Festival will be held at the city's Northern Meeting Park in September, and organisers have said it will bring "world-class acts" to the area.

The event, which has been described as the "grand ole highland hoedown",  will be held on September 6, 2025.

The festival's social media page says it will have duelling bucking broncos, line dancing, country karaoke, cactus toss, best dressed cowboy and cowgirl, BBQs, and beers.

The date for early bird tickets is still to be announced, as well as the festival line-up.

The festival will be one of the first events to take place in the Northern Meeting Park following a refurbishment.

The organisers have been contacted for comment.
