Convenience retailer Co-op has introduced its first 100 per cent vegan chocolate bar made from premium, Fairtrade sourced Peruvian cocoa, which makes for an indulgent treat that is perfect for grown-ups. The new GRO Gianduja Chocolate Bar is a rich and velvety smooth hazelnut chocolate creation.
Emily Haworth, Co-op Product Developer, said: “We’re excited to be launching our first ever GRO vegan chocolate bar which has been a year in the making to get the flavour and texture just right. And, in line with our commitment to use only 100 per cent Fairtrade-sourced cocoa across our own-brand block chocolate range, our latest addition is made using 100 per cent Fairtrade Peruvian cocoa too.
“As a convenience retailer, we’re always looking at ways to extend our vegan range with delicious products that doesn’t compromise on flavour, ethics or quality, but fits with the needs of our customers and members.”
The new GRO range caters for the growing appetite for plant-based food and the new brand, exclusively by Co-op, is designed with the convenience shopper in mind. Priced at just £1.00, the 90g bar will be available in selected Co-op stores nationwide.
