Convenience retailer Co-op is set to surprise shoppers this summer by pairing two of the nation’s favourite savoury treats to create the ultimate potato snack – Irresistible Hand Cooked Margherita Pizza Crisps. The product combines all the best bits of a pizza with the delicious crunch of potato, seasoned with the classic Italian flavours of buffalo mozzarella cheese, tomato and basil.
Like Co-op’s Margherita Pizza, the crisps also boast a creamy and authentic buffalo mozzarella, that packs the truly irresistible crisps with flavour. The new game-changing Italian-inspired crisps, will be introduced alongside a take on a Portuguese favourite. Limited edition Peri- Peri Fries are potato tubes with a peri-peri seasoning that are set to bring some heat to the summer range.
Emily Haworth, product developer at Co-op, said: “When we wanted to develop some new crisps for our summer range, we looked to the nation’s favourite flavours for inspiration. A margherita pizza is a staple for so many people, so we thought it would be fantastic to replicate this in a crisp.
"Our Irresistible Margherita Pizza is popular with our customers and members, so it felt like it would make for the perfect snack.”

Meanwhile, Co-op is bringing back 90s vibes with its brand new ‘Sex on the Beach’-inspired summer gin, in-stores now. The convenience retailer’s new £15 limited-edition gin is infused with the classic ‘Sex on the Beach’ flavours of orange and cranberry with the addition of peach for a modern take on the cocktail made famous in the 90s.
Jonathan Grey, Co-op’s spirits buyer, said: “’Sex on the Beach’ is the quintessential summer holiday cocktail and we have worked hard to recreate that classic fruity flavour with a modern twist for our shoppers to enjoy. It’s a great new addition to our growing own-label spirits range, which will be a real grown-up crowd pleaser for those summer garden parties and BBQs.”
The £15 Irresistible Peach, Orange and Cranberry Gin (40% ABV, 50cl) has been distilled five times and is limited edition for summer only. The gin is perfect paired with a classic tonic water or lemonade.
