The latest member of the Kansas City Chiefs has been assigned a new jersey number.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah wore jersey number 91 with the Kansas State Wildcats and jersey number 45 with the Lee’s Summit Tigers. He’ll soon wear No. 97 in the NFL with the Chiefs.
The team shared a photo of Anudike-Uzomah at the team facility with his new jersey on Friday just ahead of Round 2 of the 2023 NFL draft. Check it out:
A hyphenated name? He'll fit right in 😉 pic.twitter.com/wOzKMPdzyx

Malik Herring was the most recent player to wear No. 97 in Kansas City. Two of the more notable defensive linemen to wear the jersey number in franchise history are Allen Bailey and Dan Saleaumua. As far as the edge rusher spot is concerned, Alex Okafor is the last notable player to wear those threads for Kansas City.
I’m happy to report that he’s the only player in franchise history with a hyphenated name to wear this jersey number. Ultimately, it’s not a bad choice for the rookie pass rusher. Anything 90 and above is a good number for a player whose job is to get after the quarterback.
