CBS Studios and the BBC's period drama series King & Conqueror has unveiled new cast members as it commences production in Iceland. The show's official plot synopsis describes it as a tale of a pivotal clash that shaped the future of a nation and a continent over a millennium. The latest additions to the cast include Luther Ford from 'The Crown' and Joseph Mawle from 'Game of Thrones.' Ford will portray Tostig, the youngest son of the Godwin family, while Mawle takes on the role of Fitzosbern, William's loyal protector and confidant.
Joining the ensemble are Eddie Marsan as King Edward, Juliet Stevenson as Lady Emma, Jean-Marc Barr as King Henry of France, Geoff Bell as Godwin, Elliot Cowan as Sweyn, Bo Bragason as Queen Gunhild, Bjarne Henriksen as Earl Siward, Oliver Masucci as Baldwin, and Clare Holman as Gytha.
The series stars James Norton as Harold, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as William, Emily Beecham as Edith Swan-neck, and Clémence Poésy as Matilda. The premiere episode is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, with Michael Robert Johnson as the creator and writer.
Produced by Rabbit Track Pictures, The Development Partnership, and Shepherd Content, King & Conqueror will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K., with Paramount Global Content Distribution handling international distribution.
