New Brunswick reports five more COVID-19-related deaths, rise in hospitalizations

FREDERICTON — New Brunswick is reporting five more COVID-19-related deaths today and another increase in hospitalizations.  

The latest deaths bring the total in the province since the start of the pandemic to 243.  

There are 162 people hospitalized with COVID-19 — a rise of 10 since Monday.

That number includes 17 people in intensive care and seven people on ventilators.

There are 385 health-care workers who are isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.  

About 92.1 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 84.5 per cent have two doses and 44.3 per cent have been given boosters.
