New Bristol music festival Misery Loves Company announces line-up including Twin Atlantic

Bristol has a brand new festival to add to the city's cultural calendar of music events. Misery Loves Company is a multi-venue music event with "diversity and inclusivity at its core" and promises to be a major highlight in the 2023 festival calendar in the South West.

Operating under the slogan "we're all sad so let's be sad together", Misery Loves Company has firmed up its first wave of artists and half of the acts have women and/or non-binary members. Glasgow rock duo Twin Atlantic and Brighton's YONAKA will be co-headlining the event on September 30, 2023.

Kid Bookie, Mimi Barks, Pengshui, InVisions, TheCityIsOurs, Vexed, Love Is Noise, Lizzy Farrall, InMe, RXPTRS, Gürl, Kite Thief, Immerse and Lozeak were also in the first announcement. Spread across five stages, the alternative music festival will be hosted at SWX, Rough Trade, The Station and The Lanes, which will have both an indoor and courtyard acoustic stage.

The four venues are all within a few minutes of each other, making it easy to move around venues to see different acts. Tickets are on sale now for £45 per person, plus a booking fee on the Ticket Web website. The event on September 30 will start at 2pm with the last act expected to finish at 10pm.

The festival has warned that there will be capacity restrictions imposed by each venue. Tickets do not guarantee entry to a stage that’s at full capacity; in the event of a venue reaching its capacity, a one-in-one-out system will be implemented.

Organisers have advised people to plan ahead and enter the venue with plenty of time ahead of the set you’d like to see.

Misery Loves Company is on September 30, 2023 at multiple venues. Tickets on sale now through Ticket Web.
