A company that has bought two Hull specialist businesses in the past four years has launched its new city base, with plans to expand and create more jobs.
Wozair Energy Holdings bought Thermoplant Offshore Services in 2019, adding North Sea Ventilation and Air Conditioning late last year. The plan is to combine the two on Malmo Road, Sutton Fields by the end of the year, with the latest addition moving immediately. Both have worked as suppliers to the oil and gas industry for more than 25 years, and more recently in renewables.
Described as “unlike anything that the company has operated in before, both in terms of size and facility” the modern site features 17,500 sq ft workshop, 13,322 sq ft of office space and a further 4,200 sq ft mezzanine.

Plans are in place to further increase the manufacturing area to incorporate high-tech sheet metal machinery, with the aim to complete before the year end.
Stating the “company is excited to start forging a new era of stability, growth and expansion from this point onwards,” shareholding director Tony Williams said: “The opening of this state-of-the-art factory in Hull is just the beginning for this new era for Wozair. We intend to continue supplying the highest quality HVAC products for our increasing customer base, as well as assist the local community with new jobs and opportunities.”
North Sea Ventilation & Air Conditioning previously operated from West Carr Road and the purchase and subsequent move helped safeguard 22 jobs. New workshop positions are envisaged as the move completes.
Thermoplant currently operates off Hedon Road.
Cutting a ribbon on the new premises, Mr Turner said: “It is an absolute honour to open Wozair’s brand new factory here in Hull. The thriving business will create more jobs for people and help build up the local economy, for which we are all very grateful. May Wozair continue to grow for many years to come.”
Originally founded in 1986 as Waterloo Air Technology, Kent-headquartered Wozair has expanded from the UK to have offices and factories around the globe, including Singapore, Houston and Dubai. Products are provided alongside engineering and site service solutions. Mr Williams said the move “puts it in a capable position of meeting customer requirements in a variety of expanding sectors and environments”.
