New Arsenal wonderkid signing Nikolaj Moller, dubbed 'the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic', trains for first time

One Arsenal signing that perhaps went under the radar during the transfer window is young striker Nikolaj Moller, dubbed 'the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic'.

The 18-year-old arrived from Malmo on the European transfer window deadline day and this week trained with the Under-23s for the first time.

Standard Sport understands Moller has signed a four-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months, and will spend most of his time under the watchful eye of Steve Bould.

Moller arrived with the reputation of being one of Sweden's best young talents after impressing at youth level, but has played most of his football in Italy during a loan move with Serie A side Bologna where he got his nickname.

Comparisons to Zlatan Ibrahimovic

So, where do these comparisons to Zlatan Ibrahimovic come from? Well, for starters the Swede stands at a mighty 194cm (6’4″).

However, Sport Bladet also describe the striker as "technical despite his height", which is certainly reminiscent of the great Ibrahimovic, who graced the Premier League with a short stint at Manchester United.

And who better to ask than Moller himself? In an interview with Football Skane this summer, the youngster insisted he's a strong forward who's good with his head, never loses duels and likes to help his team.

Where does he fit in the Arsenal team?

Moller would have some competition in the Arsenal Under 23s up against Folarin Balogun, who has been training with the first-team of late.

Coach Bould has limited options up top in his U23 side, and should Balogun seek a loan move elsewhere, Moller could become an important player.
