A new trailer for Ananta, previously known as Project Mugen, showcases how it looks like a mix of Grand Theft Auto and Marvel's Spider-Man.
Developer Naked Rain and publisher NetEase Games revealed more details about the game, which is a free-to-play gacha game like Genshin Impact. The latest teaser for Ananta seems like it is paying homage to the first trailer for GTA VI.
New Ananta Trailer
The studios showed off some of the gameplay where players will be able to navigate the streets of Nova City as agents of the Anti-Chaos Directorate. Ananta features an anime-inspired visual design similar to what is seen in Zenless Zone Zero.
Naked Science noted that players will soon be able to explore an "open-world urban RPG" and take on the forces of Chaos.
The official description reveals that Nova City has been plunged into Chaos and is now experiencing spooky paranormal phenomena and other chaotic mishaps.
Ananta promises to deliver a unique mix of humor, adventure, and mystery when it officially launches. The game's trailer also showed some bizarre-looking enemies such as sentient toilets and cars with chainsaws, according to Game Spot.
Players will be able to traverse the city using a variety of different vehicles and the trailer also showed that you can swing into action or be stealthy around enemies. These features are reminiscent of Insomniac's Spider-Man games.
Naked Science also showed off some combat for Ananta, where players will be able to take advantage of their surroundings to engage enemies in battle. You can also take breaks between patrols to take part in various activities, such as pub crawls and going to the gym.
A Mix of GTA and Spider-Man
Project Mugen was originally revealed in 2023 as an open-world fantasy RPG that was filled with individuals wielding superpowers. They are tasked with investigating strange anomalies that threaten their urban paradise, Yahoo said.
The studios behind Ananta are also promising to deliver a game that has a mix of kung-fu action movies and everyday city socializing. The release of the trailer also marks the start of pre-registration for the game.
Many people who watched the Ananta trailer said that it was quite indistinguishable from the trailer for GTA VI at first glance. They had so many similarities, such as a male and female character appearing into the fray with a gun in hand.
Despite the seemingly obvious inspiration from Rockstar Games' own franchise, Ananta looks to be a solid anime-like gacha game that could compete with the likes of Genshin Impact, according to Games Radar.
