A recent examination of the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a campaign rally on July 13 has shed new light on the incident. According to a report, the first of eight bullets fired by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks likely grazed Trump's ear.

The analysis, based on bullet trajectory, video footage, audio recordings, and photo evidence, strongly indicates that the initial shot hit Trump's ear. At least three of the shots came close to causing serious harm to the former president.

While Trump initially claimed he was hit by a bullet, investigators have raised the possibility that it could have been debris instead. FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that there is uncertainty about whether the object that struck Trump's ear was a bullet or shrapnel.

The FBI's focus remains on understanding the motives of the assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who carried out the attack. The agency emphasized that the shooting was an attempted assassination that resulted in Trump's injury, the death of a supporter, and injuries to other victims.

Despite differing opinions on the nature of the object that hit Trump, the FBI is committed to unraveling the details of the incident. The Shooting Reconstruction Team is actively examining evidence from the scene, including recovered bullet fragments.

The tragic event claimed the life of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and left David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, critically injured. The FBI continues to dedicate significant resources to uncovering the full extent of the shooter's actions and motivations.
